Horizon Dental Associates is proud to introduce Dr. Kateryna Latypova, DMD, a board-certified periodontist with nearly three decades of clinical experience, who is now available to serve patients across all three Horizon locations in Vermont and New Hampshire.
Dr. Latypova was born and raised in Ukraine, where she earned her dental degree from Ukrainian National Medical University in Kyiv in 1996. She came to the United States in 1999 and enrolled in the Advanced Standing program at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, graduating in 2002. She immediately continued her studies in Tufts' postgraduate Periodontology program, earning her Certificate in Periodontology in 2005. In 2006, she achieved board certification and was granted the distinguished status of Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology—a credential that represents the highest level of professional recognition in her specialty and one that only a small percentage of periodontists hold.
Since relocating to Williamstown, Massachusetts in 2008 and establishing her practice in Bennington, Vermont, Dr. Latypova has built a reputation as one of the region's most trusted specialists in periodontal care. Serving our area now for almost two decades, she has developed the kind of long-term relationships that define what meaningful dental care looks like. Her patients know her not just as a clinician, but as someone who takes the time to understand their full health picture, explain what she sees, and partner with them on a path forward. That philosophy aligns closely with what Horizon has always believed: that dentistry is personal, not transactional, and that the goal of every visit is a healthier patient, not simply a completed procedure.
As a periodontist, Dr. Latypova specializes in the health of the gums and the structures that support the teeth, an area of oral health that is often underappreciated until problems become serious. Gum disease, in particular, is more common than most people realize, and its connections to systemic health make periodontal care far more than a cosmetic concern. Dr. Latypova approaches her work with that broader context in mind, treating each patient's gum health as an integral part of their overall wellbeing, not a side issue to be addressed only when something goes wrong. Regular hygiene appointments remain the foundation of prevention, and Dr. Latypova is a strong advocate for the kind of ongoing, proactive care that catches small problems before they become large ones.
What makes Dr. Latypova particularly well-suited to the communities Horizon serves is her genuine love for rural practice. She has spent her career building relationships in small towns and slower-paced communities, and she speaks about that experience with unmistakable warmth. Outside of the office, you can find her hiking, swimming, and traveling whenever the opportunity arises. She also finds joy in practicing yoga and music, both playing the violin and singing with a local chorus. Above all, she treasures time with her two teenage children, Amelia and Daniel, who have grown up alongside her in this corner of New England she has made home.
Horizon Dental Associates is honored to welcome Dr. Latypova to the team. If you have been referred to a periodontist, have questions about your gum health, or simply want to establish care with a specialist who will take the time to truly listen, we encourage you to reach out. At Horizon, every relationship begins with a conversation and Dr. Latypova is the kind of clinician who makes that conversation worth having.
